Terms of Service
Last updated 12 August 2026 · These terms also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA)
These terms govern your use of the PhotoCleaner iPhone app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
1. The licence you get
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use PhotoCleaner on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.
2. What the app does, and the risk you accept
PhotoCleaner helps you delete photos and videos from your own photo library. It does this by asking iOS to delete them; iOS then shows you its own confirmation prompt, and moves the items to your Recently Deleted album, where they remain for 30 days before iOS removes them permanently.
Deletion is your decision, not ours. Nothing is removed without you queueing it and confirming, and then confirming again to iOS. But once items leave Recently Deleted they are gone, and we cannot recover them. If you use iCloud Photos, deleting on one device deletes everywhere. Keep a backup you trust.
Features that identify duplicates, clutter or similar photos use automated analysis and are offered as suggestions. They are not perfect, and the final choice about what to delete is always yours.
3. Free use
PhotoCleaner is free to download and use, with a limit of 50 photo reviews per day, applied from your first review. All cleaning modes are available on the free tier; the cap is on volume, not on features. We may change this limit in future versions.
4. Subscriptions
PhotoCleaner Pro removes the daily limit. It is offered as an auto-renewable subscription in two lengths:
| Subscription | Length | Free trial |
|---|---|---|
| PhotoCleaner Pro — Monthly | 1 month, renewing monthly | 3 days |
| PhotoCleaner Pro — Yearly | 1 year, renewing yearly | 3 days |
Price
Prices are set per region by Apple's price tiers and are always shown in your own currency, in the app and in the App Store, before you confirm a purchase. We deliberately do not print prices on this website, because they differ by territory and would inevitably be wrong somewhere.
Payment and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for your plan.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings after purchase: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If you buy a subscription while a free trial is still running, the unused part of the trial is forfeited, as required by Apple.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. We cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app went wrong, write to us first — support@photocleaner.ch — and we will do what we can.
Restoring a purchase
Your subscription belongs to your Apple ID, not to a device. On a new phone, or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the app's settings. There is no account for us to look up, and nothing for you to remember.
5. Acceptable use
Use PhotoCleaner only on photo libraries you are entitled to modify, and only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to interfere with the app, our backend, or other people's use of either.
6. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue features. The app requires iOS 17 or later. Some functionality depends on Apple's services and on your network, neither of which we control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
PhotoCleaner is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data — including photos or videos you chose to delete.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Apple's role
These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
9. Privacy
How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: your photos never leave your device.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and the current version is always the one published here. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Where you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and nothing here removes them.
